Muni posted a video from her TikTok account casually riding in a vehicle appearing unbothered but the caption was somewhat of a precautionary tale.
The video from Long read, “That one time I missed out on a Drake feature because my bf at the time found out he was pulling up to the studio and flew into a jealous rage so I chickened out and quit responding to his texts. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡”.
Muni Long’s fumble with Drake could have been the mistake of a lifetime for an up-and-coming artist. But, fortunately, things seem to be working out and her career is on the rise.
Muni Long emerged on the music scene nationally in 2009 under the name Priscilla Renea. She was signed to Capitol Records and her debut album was titled Jukebox. For the next decade, she spent most of her time as a songwriter for the likes of Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Fifth Harmony, and Ariana Grande, and she even wrote the global hit “Timber,” featuring Pitbull and Ke$ha.
Muni Long enjoyed major commercial success as an independent artist with the single “Hrs and Hrs,” which reached the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. Halle Bailey covered her record “hrs and hrs” which helped catapult its popularity on youtube.
Muni also received a Grammy Award nomination for Album of the Year for her work on Back of My Mind (2021) by H.E.R.
