Cardi B frequently uses her massive platform to speak out on social and political issues and her music speaks freely on sexual empowerment and gang culture. But after she became a mother four years ago, we’ve seen the “WAP” rapper evolve as she’s put her family first.
The mom of Kulture Kiari and newborn, Wave, is super-protective over her kids. When her four-year-old, Kulture’s, social media was attacked by trolls, she shut down the account with the quickness. And the Bardi gang didn’t get a glimpse of her look-a-like baby boy until 8 months after his birth.
Cardi recently expressed how she didn’t want to record her recent drill song “Shake It” because she doesn’t “wanna be that girl anymore,” having shifted her focus away from gang life to motherhood. She even announced her new partnership with kids’ TV network, Nickelodeon.

Despite the fact that her music hasn’t quite changed since motherhood, Summer Walker makes sure to choose mental health over performing triggering songs. After having her baby girl, Bubbles, the “No Love” singer received backlash from social media about feeding her daughter natural herbs. That didn’t stop Summer from taking pride in changing her lifestyle for her and her mini-me like a true mother would.
The Queen Bee welcomed her baby girl Royal Reign 7 years ago. And Lil Kim remains getting her bag to make sure her princess is taken care of. Though not too focused on performing her raunchy lyrics, Kim is selling out clothing in less than two minutes.
Though her baby’s birthday is yet around the corner, Rihanna has been full-on embracing motherhood for the world to see. Rihanna has become the new standard of #mommygoals. She’s made it clear she’s not ashamed of her pregnancy and she is definitely not toning down her signature sexy style.
