Diddy’s New Love Records Signee Has Fans Wanting to Know, Who is Jozzy? – SOHH.com
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is back on the music scene after partnering with Motown Records in launching a new R&B record label, Love Records. During his takeover at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, Diddy took the time to properly introduce the world to the first signee of his label. Now fans are wanting to know: Who is Jozzy?
Described by Diddy himself as the R&B Biggie, Jocelyn Jozzy Donald is no new face to the music industry. The Memphis vocalist is an LA-based Grammy Award nominee, multi-platinum songwriter and is now adding R&B artist to her list of accomplishments.
Mentored by hiphop legends Timbaland and Missy Elliott, Jozzy took their work ethic and applied it to her own career, making it a successful one. Known for showing off her pen game with many hit records, the “Replay” singer has written for major artists such as Monica, Chris Brown, Latto, Summer Walker, Mary J Blidge, Madonna, Pharrell and is the woman behind Billy Ray Cyrus’s verse on Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road Remix.” Along with being signed to Diddy’s Love Records, Jozzy is backed by heavy hitters in the music industry as she is also co-managed by Roc Nation.
Outside of her music career, the “Sucka Free” artist is an openly LGBTQ+ woman of color who uses her platform to shine light on the inequalities throughout the music industry. No additional details regarding Jozzy’s label deal has been announced, but the new signee promises fans her new music “will speak for itself.”
Omeretta The Great, another signee to hit-making record mogul, Diddy “Love,” has expressed to fans her ongoing battle with stress and mental health. She says the pressure to work and make money has made her “numb.”
The “Sorry Not Sorry” rapper took to Instagram to get personal with fans about her struggles with mental health. Omeretta shared a compilation video of herself working non-stop since landing a record deal.
Though the artist is grateful her dreams are coming true, she makes it known not everything that glitters is gold. She shares how she’s been crying out for help. She also mentions the people around her don’t care about her mental health.
