E-40 brings his West Coast status to the courtside in his new music video for “Front Row 40.” With an appearance from his wife, Tracey Stevens, E-40, legal name Earl Stevens, is seen sitting front row at San Francisco 49ers,  San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors, even catching some dap from NBA players like Stephen Curry. The video also includes footage from times that Stevens has attended games alongside 2 Chainz, JAY-Z, and more.

“I love Bay Area teams, I’m a superfan / I’m sorta like Spike and Jack Nicholson,” Stevens raps, acknowledging NBA enthusiasts Spike Lee and the aforementioned Nicholson.

The single comes one week after Stevens was ejected from a Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors game during the NBA playoffs. The Mount Westmore rapper alleges that he confronted a group of white hecklers when a verbal altercation erupted.

Stevens, 55, was then removed from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento and later wrote a statement claiming that the ejection was due to “racial bias.”

“Unfortunately, it was yet another reminder that — despite my success and accolades as a musician and entrepreneur — racial bias remains prevalent. Security saw a disagreement between a Black man and a white woman and immediately assumed that I was at fault. I’ve attended countless NBA games throughout my lifetime and have always prided myself in my professionalism, so this experience has been jarring.”

The Kings have since stated that the ejection was due to a miscommunication in a joint statement with Stevens, saying, “Contrary to speculation, Mr. Earl ‘E-40’ Stevens did not stand excessively from his ticketed courtside seat; the outcome resulted from an unfortunate misunderstanding between both parties.”

They continued, “The Kings will continue to equitably enforce the NBA Fan Code of Conduct to ensure guests can comfortably enjoy games free of disrespectful heckling and other disruptive conduct.”
