Nelly And Ashanti Link Up At Davis-Garcia Fight
Nelly and Ashanti were once a musical power couple. They first met in 2003 during a press conference for the Grammys and quickly entered into a relationship. The couple stayed together for 11 years before breaking up in 2014. Nelly then entered into a long-term relationship with Shantel Jackson while Ashanti was linked to the likes of Ja Rule and Flo Rida. While not often seen together, Nelly and Ashanti appeared to stay on good terms.
However, the end of 2022 brought with it rumors that Nelly and Ashanti were reuniting. First, there was an intimate dance the two shared at the December 5 “Under the Mistletoe” concert. A week later, Ashanti openly spoke about the rumors they were getting back together and said she would collab with Nelly again. Most recently, Ashanti was caught sporting Nelly’s chain in February, further fuelling the rumors.
Fight Link Up Sparks New Speculation
On April 22, a veritable who’s who of star power descended on Las Vegas for the highly-anticipated boxing match between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia. As opposed to the all-out knockout brawl promised by the fighters, fans were treated to a paced and calculated fight. Davis eventually prevailed, delivering a crippling body blow knockout in the seventh round. However, keen-eyed gossip sleuths weren’t paying attention to the fight. How could they, given the wealth of famous faces in the audience? Despite the plethora of celebrities, one group of attendees, in particular, has got the internet buzzing.
Nelly and Ashanti were spotted attending the fight together, with seats a few rows back from the ring. While the footage is brief, Nelly and Ashanti can clearly be seen amongst their sprawling entourage. So what does this mean? On the one hand, it could simply be a friendly outing by exes clearly on good terms. Davis v Garcia was the event to be at on Saturday night so it makes sense that they were there. However, fans have run wild with speculation. “He couldn’t take seeing those vacation pics anymore,” wrote one fan on Instagram.
