Lil Durk Denied Bail, Implicated In Chicago Murder

Lil Durk, who is currently incarcerated pending a trial for allegedly commissioning a murder in Los Angeles, could now face charges related to a second murder after a judge denied him bail, despite Durk’s defense offering a $2.3 million bond proposal against his two homes in Georgia. However, according to the Los Angeles Times, US Magistrate Judge Patricia Donahue was convinced that the resources could also be used to flee.
Meanwhile, a separate federal case was filed in Chicago in which Durk was allegedly implicated in the murder of Stephon Mack. That case was cited in documents filed by prosecutors today to demonstrate their belief that Durk had offered money to people in exchange for killing the people he considered responsible for his brother’s murder in 2021. The brief reads:
Evidence collected in this case also shows defendant has allegedly placed monetary bounties to solicit other murders, including a family member of a witness. Defendant’s modus operandi is clear: he will use his power, his money, his influence, and any pretrial release to endanger anyone who he perceives as a threat, including witnesses in this case.
While a US Attorney’s Office spokesperson was cagey regarding whether Durk would be charged in the Chicago case, Durk’s attorneys don’t anticipate that he will be charged. Durk had previously pled “not guilty” to the charges against him, which include conspiracy, using interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, and “using, carrying, and discharging firearms and a machine gun and possession of such firearms in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death.” The latter two charges were added after his initial arrest.
