Will There Be A ‘The Bondsman’ Season 2 On Amazon?

The Bondsman arrived on Prime Video/Amazon less than a week ago, and it’s a justifiable streaming hit. The Kevin Bacon-starring show also has vague shades of Justified-lite going on (the presence of Dewey Crowe actor Damon Herriman as Lucky doesn’t hurt), since Bacon portrays a bounty hunter of demons, whose personalities aren’t all that different from the more cartoonish characters arrested by Raylan Givens in Appalachia.

That’s all a front. The Bondsman is actually nothing like Justified, but it is an entertaining show from Blumhouse, and the first season finale reveals how Hub Halloran (Bacon) is entrenched in far more nefarious mechinations than he ever imagined. The cliffhanger season finale ended with Hub at another crossroads after Lilith possesses his ex-wife, Maryanne (Jennifer Nettles), and he’s now faced with the choice of accepting an even weightier deal than the one he had with Satan. So naturally, people cannot get enough of this hellishly hot mess and want to know if Hub’s demon-plagued fate will continue.

Will There Be A The Bondsman Season 2?

No official word exists yet, but showrunner Eric Oleson and Kevin Bacon are pulling for that to happen. In fact, they made sure that the cliffhanger was alluring enough to persuade Amazon to green light more.

As Olseson informed the LA Times, he and Bacon were “evil” while concocting this plan. Look at these little stinkers:

Both Bacon and Oleson are crossing their fingers that “The Bondsman” will have life beyond one season. “I intentionally wrote Season 1 to have an ending that would make it difficult for Amazon not to give Kevin and me more chances to make more episodes. We were evil, devious partners in trying to make sure this show goes the distance.”

The Bondsman also co-stars Jolene Purdy, Beth Grant, and Maxwell Jenkins. All eight episodes of the first season are available for streaming.
