Gangsta Boo’s posthumous album was confirmed on Sunday.

A few months following the death of the legendary female rapper, TMZ reported there are confirmed plans for a posthumous album. Insider sources said the Gangsta Boo estate has stated features on the release will include Run the Jewels, Latto, Skepta, and La Chat.

Production will be handled by the likes of Drumma Boy, Nick Hook, and El-P. Additionally, Metro Boomin and BeatKing are also in the process of potentially contributing.

Though the project is untitled, it is slated to release on August 7, Gangsta Boo’s 44th birthday. Notably, this will be her next solo release following Enquiring Minds II: The Soap Opera. The rapper’s previously released bodies of work also included Enquiring Minds released in 1998 and Both Worlds *69 which was rolled out in 2001. The former member of Three Six Mafia injected her undeniable energy into the group which she joined at 15. Since then, she’s been known as a lauded artist who was one of the pioneering voices of female rap of the ’90s.

According to TMZ, Three Six Mafia’s DJ Paul and Juicy J might be involved with the album too.

“My daughter Lola was my only baby girl. I was so proud when she would rap as a little girl,” Gangsta Boo’s mom, Veronica Mitchell, told TMZ. “She became the Queen of Memphis and God brought her home to be with her daddy Cedric and her brother Derron. I miss her but I know she’s happy with them. I’ll always remember telling her GO GET THEM DOLLAS, but I had no idea how many people would love my baby girl. I’m grateful all y’all support my daughter. Thank you.”

Her mother also added she’s still smiling knowing her daughter touched millions of listeners during her life.

Gangsta Boo, also known as Lola Mitchell was found dead on January 1 in Memphis. There has been no confirmation of her cause of death. Sources say she died from a suspected drug overdose.
